Department: Production
Reports to: Executive Producer
At VVD BzRx, we are entrusted with our clients' stories. Our purpose is to protect that trust with craft and integrity. As an Austin-based post-production studio, we deliver post services and solutions for long-form and commercial work as we continue building Texas's premier post-production offering. We see ourselves as stewards of every project. We protect the creative intent, the schedule, and the budget as if they were our own, and we hold every delivery to a high standard of craft. Our four core values guide that work: kindness, curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving. They shape how we treat our clients, how we support each other, and why storytellers trust us with their work.
Position Summary:
The Senior Producer, Long Form is a key management role, leading production on narrative and documentary features and series at VVD BzRx, fostering a collaborative environment and strong studio culture, and nurturing, developing, and managing relationships with our long form clients. Reporting to the Executive Producer, this role works closely with the broader production team and owns projects from initial bid through final delivery.
Responsibilities include client relationships, bidding and budget management, scheduling and staffing, and leading associate producers and coordinators. The Senior Producer oversees project finances, technical compliance, quality control, and delivery, ensuring each production meets its creative, technical, and financial goals. The ideal candidate has significant experience leading post-production on series and features, with a deep understanding of long-form workflows and the ability to manage complex productions independently.
A proactive problem-solver and thoughtful team leader, the Senior Producer knows how to delegate effectively, anticipate challenges, and escalate early before a project is at risk. They care as much about how the work gets made as what gets delivered, contributing to a team where people are supported, challenged, and proud of the work we create.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Bidding:
• Lead production on long-form series, features, and documentary projects from bid through final delivery, managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Build accurate, competitive bids and budgets across project types and budget tiers, following 86c'T long-form bidding standards and internal review protocols.
• Build and manage project schedules, identifying the right artists, vendors, and resources for each project.
• Lead key project milestones, including internal kickoffs, client kickoffs, turnover meetings, and post-mortems.
• Prepare bids, project deal memos, freelancer agreements, and required documentation for approval before projects begin.
• Track project financial performance against budget and report status to the Executive Producer.
• Partner with accounting to maintain accurate billing schedules and follow up on outstanding invoices.
Team Leadership & Delegation:
• Build strong working relationships with 9X9’3 artists and post team, understanding each artist’s strengths and workload and bringing them into projects early so creative and technical input shapes the plan.
• Develop a reliable network of freelancers and vendors to support current and future long-form needs.
• Lead associate producers and coordinators on assigned projects, delegating tasks clearly and holding the team to 86c'T production standards.
• Coach associate producers and coordinators through day-to-day project work, provide direct feedback, and grow their responsibilities over time.
• Anticipate staffing and resource needs and flag them to the Executive Producer well in advance, especially across concurrent projects.
Client Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for long-form clients, fostering clear, consistent, and proactive communication between clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advise clients on workflows and alternative approaches that best support their creative goals, technical needs, schedules, and budgets.
• Identify and address project challenges early, resolving issues before they impact margins, timelines, or client relationships.
• Represent VVD BzRx in the local advertising, film, and long-form community.
Workflow, Compliance & Delivery:
• Manage technical compliance and quality control through proactive scheduling, information management, and communication with networks, platforms, clients, rEm and vendor artists, and the SqG YDrN of YSPX.
• Ensure timely delivery of all assets to the specifications required by each studio, network, platform, distributor, or festival.
• Follow the long-form production pipeline, communicating any adjustment requests to the Executive Producer in a timely manner.
• Help maintain long-form documentation and the knowledge base as workflows and platform requirements change.
• Assist with other production needs as they arise.
Professional Development:
• Take on increasing ownership of key client relationships and help shape the strategic growth of 86c'T long-form offering.
• Build a working understanding of the business side of the studio, including pricing, profitability, and business development.
• Grow as a leader, mentoring associate producers and coordinators and contributing to how the long-form team is structured and run.
• Continue expanding knowledge of 86c'T commercial workflows and broader business objectives to support cross-functional collaboration.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and platform requirements to inform production and creative solutions.
What You Bring:
• Experience leading production on series and features.
• Bidding expertise, with a track record of building accurate long-form bids and budgets and managing projects to them.
• Experience leading associate producers and coordinators, with the ability to delegate effectively.
• Deep understanding of long-form post-production, from bidding and scheduling through network and platform delivery.
• Strong track record managing budgets, timelines, resources, and client relationships across multiple concurrent projects.
• A calm, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to navigate challenges, prioritize competing demands, and make thoughtful decisions under pressure.
• A collaborative, pro-team mindset with a genuine investment in supporting producers, artists, and the quality of creative output.
