About the Role
The Planet Group is seeking a Localization Project Manager to support a leading global technology client’s Services UI Localization team.
This role will manage the localization of new user interface features across digital services and media products, supporting releases in up to 50 languages simultaneously across iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and Web.
The ideal candidate combines localization project management, technical localization knowledge, and hands-on QA experience. You will partner closely with Engineering, Editorial, QA, localization vendors, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality localized experiences worldwide.
Responsibilities
• Manage multiple localization projects from planning through delivery across up to 50 languages simultaneously.
• Coordinate localization of new UI features across iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and Web.
• Manage schedules, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and project status across major release phases.
• Partner with Engineering, Editorial, QA, localization vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Create and maintain detailed localization requirements and project documentation.
• Identify critical deliverables, proactively flag blockers, and drive issues toward resolution.
• Support localization QA and ensure localized content meets linguistic, functional, and technical quality standards.
• Work with CMS, CAT, MT/ML, and bug-tracking systems as part of localization production workflows.
• Use modern AI tools and prompt engineering to automate validation, improve project management processes, and streamline localization workflows.
• Manage high volumes of localization data while minimizing rework and maintaining release quality.
Required Qualifications
• Strong understanding of the software release lifecycle, internationalization standards, and localization QA.
• Hands-on experience with localization Content Management Systems, CAT tools, MT/ML technologies, and bug-tracking systems.
• Proven experience project managing multilingual localization programs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of content and simultaneous releases across multiple languages.
• Experience creating localization requirements, managing schedules, and reporting project status.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across Engineering, Editorial, QA, vendors, and localization teams.
• Proven ability to identify priorities, manage dependencies, and escalate blockers quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and Web.
• Experience with software localization, internationalization, or globalization operations.
• Experience using AI and prompt engineering, including structured prompting, iterative refinement, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience supporting e-commerce, media, or international digital marketplaces.
• Native-level fluency in at least one language in addition to English.
What Will Make Someone Stand Out
The strongest candidates will have a combination of true end-to-end localization PM ownership + technical localization QA + multilingual release experience. Someone who has only performed linguistic QA without owning schedules, vendors, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional execution will be a weaker match.
