Title: Forward Deployed Engineer

Time: Full-Time

Location: Remote (United States) with frequent travel to customer sites

Compensation: $150,000 - $240,000/year USD + competitive early-stage equity

The Company

Our client is a Chicago-based, seed-stage venture building the enterprise AI platform for commercial real estate. Their platform transforms complex firm documents and data into a structured knowledge graph that AI agents reason over, enabling institutional investors, owners, operators, and developers to automate critical workflows and generate verified answers.

Role Overview

The Forward Deployed Engineer will operate at the intersection of AI engineering, client delivery, and commercial real estate domain translation. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will own technical delivery end-to-end, designing and deploying production LLM workflows, RAG pipelines, and AI agent architectures while collaborating directly with enterprise clients to resolve complex operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and deploy production-grade LLM workflows, RAG pipelines, and autonomous AI agents tailored to client environments.

• Work directly alongside client stakeholders and end users to translate business and domain requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Lead technical implementation and data integrations, connecting client data stores into structured knowledge graph platforms.

• Partner closely with executive leadership to refine deployment strategies, system performance, and product feedback loops.

• Travel on-site to enterprise customer locations as needed to oversee deployments, conduct technical working sessions, and drive user adoption.

• Maintain high engineering standards across testing, documentation, monitoring, and ongoing system maintenance.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7 years of professional experience as a software engineer, full-stack engineer, applied AI engineer, or forward deployed engineer.

• Proven track record of building and shipping production AI systems used by real users (LLM workflows, RAG pipelines, multi-agent frameworks, or production data pipelines), beyond demos or prototypes.

• Demonstrated direct client-facing or solution engineering experience, building alongside customers within an early-stage startup or forward-deployed environment.

• Strong hands-on proficiency with Python and modern AI development frameworks (such as OpenAI API, Anthropic API, AWS Bedrock, and LangChain).

• Experience building full-stack applications end-to-end, including data modeling, ingestion, and cleanup.

• Solid background in computer vision, model fine-tuning, or structured knowledge graphs is an asset.

• Demonstrated stability and tenure across prior engineering roles.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship (e.g., US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card holder).
