About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join our web team responsible for managing all Edconic digital properties, including school websites, landing pages, and email templates. You will collaborate closely with designers, IT, and MarTech teams to develop solutions that meet business objectives while preserving the unique identity of each brand. As one of two developers on the team, you will have significant ownership over your work, contribute to shaping coding standards, and participate in the migration toward a modern, standardized WordPress stack. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on clean, maintainable code and high-performance web pages.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to build custom WordPress themes from scratch using PHP templates and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)

• Experience with Git/GitHub workflows including pull requests and code reviews

• Familiarity with npm-based build tools and command line operations

• Experience in building and testing responsive HTML emails

• Strong UX/UI sensibilities with attention to detail

• Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field; equivalent professional experience is also accepted

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with modern WordPress block development including ACF Blocks, block.json, theme.json, and block patterns

• Familiarity with Composer, Bedrock, Roots tooling (Sage/Blade, Trellis), Vite, or CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and assistive technology testing

• Experience integrating CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce and Pardot/Account Engagement

• Experience with multilingual WordPress site development

• UX or UI design experience and proficiency with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain public-facing websites, micro-sites, and landing pages in collaboration with lead developer, IT, and MarTech teams

• Work with UX/UI designers to assess technical feasibility and translate designs into polished, responsive web pages that maintain brand integrity

• Create and maintain custom WordPress themes across both modern block-based and classic PHP template stacks

• Collaborate with the lead developer to define coding standards, tooling, and workflows

• Assist in migrating existing sites towards a modern WordPress stack

• Stay up-to-date with emerging web standards and proactively suggest improvements

• Participate in code reviews and maintain high-quality, readable, and maintainable code

• Build and test responsive HTML email templates

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools responsibly to enhance productivity while ensuring code quality and accountability

• Work remotely within the United States with occasional travel to the New York office as needed
