Social Media Content Specialist — Oak Lane Dental, Columbus, OH

Ascend Dental is a multi-location dental group serving patients across central and northwest Ohio. We’re looking for a hands-on Social Media & Content Specialist to create photography, content, and social media that tells our story, engages patients and referring partners, supports internal marketing efforts, and supports our practices and group-level operations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll own the day-to-day creation and management of social content and supporting materials while also having the opportunity to contribute ideas and insights to broader marketing strategy and campaigns. You will be responsible for doing graphic design and video editing work for both campaigns and internal communications. Being AI savvy is a big plus; you would take over our automation of technical SEO, advanced video editing, and campaign execution work. This role focuses on the human, creative, and relationship side of marketing.

You will report directly to the group CEO, but interface with local and regional leaders. You’ll coordinate with those different leaders to provide marketing, graphic design, and video creation/editing support for internal initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Capture professional photography (patient stories, team culture, office environments, events, and educational content) at our practices.

• Create and manage social media content across our channels (planning, writing, designing, scheduling, and community engagement).

• Design internal marketing materials, posters, and updates using Canva (and related tools).

• Produce occasional video content, including for internal meetings and training.

• Update website content, Google business account, and supporting pages as needed.

• Maintain basic online hygiene, responding to Google reviews, maintaining SEO efforts, and ensuring online directories are accurate.

• Help with outreach to referral partners and local contacts to support patient growth.

• Contribute ideas, insights, and recommendations on marketing strategy, content direction, and campaign approaches.

• Support the longer-term marketing vision by developing outreach to large employers, including HR departments and manufacturing plants, to build relationships and support patient growth.

• Travel occasionally within Ohio (primarily to Toledo, Tiffin, Marion, and the greater Columbus area). Travel is limited and reimbursed.

WHAT YOU BRING

• A portfolio demonstrating photography, social media content creation, and visual storytelling (healthcare, dental, or service-industry examples are a plus but not required).

• Strong skills in content creation, social media management, and graphic design tools (Canva required; Adobe or similar is a plus).

• Ability to shoot quality photos and produce simple video content.

• Clear writing and communication skills with an eye for brand consistency.

• Comfort managing multiple projects and working across locations and brands.

• Interest in contributing to marketing strategy and campaign thinking, not just pure execution.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally within Ohio.

• Availability to attend occasional marketing events outside regular business hours.

• Columbus-area base preferred.

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare, dental, multi-location businesses, or professional services.

• Familiarity with basic website content management (particularly WordPress and Wix).

• Understanding of patient privacy/HIPAA considerations in marketing materials.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Base salary range: $60,000 – $70,000 (commensurate with experience and portfolio strength).
